Presentations & Talks

The "Sit-Back" Experience

  • One of the largest reasons people don’t pick up the hobby is because they’re intimidated by lengthy rulebooks and confusing terminology. This is a warm, insightful introduction to the world of modern tabletop games. This workshop:

    • decodes the lingo (what is a "Nat 20"?)

    • explains why the hobby is booming

    • explains how these games build social skills

    • provides a "cheat sheet" for talking to the gamers in your life

    • gives newbies the tools to stop worrying about learning the rules and start rolling the dice

  • A visual journey through the evolution of storytelling games—from ancient strategy games to modern digital and tabletop hits.

  • This talk focuses on Narrative Game Design. The session explores the mechanics of building worlds where choices have consequences and examines how "game-thinking" applies to real-world problem-solving.

Collaborative Storytelling

Social & Dynamic (but less of a time commitment)

  • This high-engagement session leads a group through the creation of a fictional town or world. Landmarks, local legends, and a unique atmosphere are developed based entirely on participant input.

  • Participants build a fictional setting using lived memories as the foundation. The activity draws on collective experiences of community life and neighborhood history to create a rich, living map.

  • A simplified adventure through simulation-style gameplay. A few brave adventurers take on roles as “players”* to help act out the story while the rest of the audience takes on the role of “The Fates” and votes on major plot points or rolls dice to determine outcomes in through the story.

*The “players” can be volunteers from the audience, though this will require some additional rule setting, which might add on more time. For a more efficient experience, I can coordinate with staff member prior to the event to serve as characters the audience makes decision for or I can provide a troupe to act as the players for an additional fee.

  • This tactile storytelling activity utilizes physical props. Groups examine "mysterious" items (antique keys, old compasses, weathered letters) and work in teams to imagine the legendary origins of each piece.

The Creative Studio

Art & Narrative Based Play

  • This session combines narrative creation with visual art. Participants define the personality, strengths, and background of an original character before using provided art supplies to illustrate the hero. The workshop emphasizes how personality traits can be represented through visual cues like clothing and posture.

  • This reflective writing workshop helps participants "stat out" real-life skills and achievements onto a stylized character sheet. The activity highlights personal growth and internal strengths using the structure of a game profile.

  • This nostalgic, arts-focused workshop provides cardstock and markers for participants to create articulated "paper doll" versions of original characters using movable joints.

  • This session focuses on the meditative art of painting small figures. All materials are provided, and the workshop covers simple techniques to bring a character to life with color.

  • This meditative workshop teaches the use of organic shapes to generate coastlines and mountain ranges. Participants then ink these designs into their own maps, combining geography with creative worldbuilding.

  • This session introduces the use of guided adventure prompts and a single die to fuel a daily writing habit. The framework allows for personal expression in a structured, accessible format.

Writing & Preparation

Once all your needs are documented in a custom service contract and deposit has been received, Tabletop BLT gets to work crafting a professional, high-quality experience that is designed and polished for the group's unique style.

🎲

Let’s Play!

It’s time to roll the dice! At the scheduled time, the group gathers online or in person to bring the custom story to life. Relax and enjoy—the adventure is ready, and the stage is set for an unforgettable experience. If a debrief is included in the service package, all related materials and insights will be made available following the conclusion of the event.

Looking for a price tag?

Searching for a specific price tag is a natural first step. However, because Tabletop BLT is a boutique service where every adventure is custom-designed for unique goals, a “one-size-fits-all” price rarely tells the whole story.

Typically, Multi-Session Campaigns represent the highest investment due to the depth of story development and long-term facilitation involved. One-Shot Journeys, being single-session experiences, tend to be more accessible. For those seeking the most cost-effective options, the Workshop Menu or pre-made adventures found in the Adventure Store offer high-impact play at a lower price point.

Tabletop BLT believes that transformative play should be accessible. Pricing is tailored to the unique goals, player count, and budget of each organization. Whether representing a large corporation or a community non-profit, a custom quote can be provided following a free consultation. The goal is to ensure the scale of the program remains realistic and strategic for every partner.

Standard Terms:

  • Custom Quotes: Provided after a free discovery consultation.

  • Booking: A 50% non-refundable deposit secures the date and initiates the writing and preparation phase.

  • Final Balance: Due 14 days before the event.
